Neville Chamberlain has been accused of being directly responsible for the Second World War. Would you agree that he is guilty of this?

There are a number of different reasons in why many people would have thought that Neville Chamberlain was responsible for the second world war, but there were other factors involved.

firstly people began to blame Chamberlin because of Appeasement this helped Hitler to get what he wanted this meant that Hitler was now able to get more lebensraum (living space) for his country to control. Due to appeasement, Hitler was able to do this with out any arguments from Britain or France this lead to him thinking that he could do anything to these two countries. He could not do anything to stop him. Hitler was becoming more and more powerful day by day. When Chamberlain finally declared war on Hitler it gave him time to think of a plan to defeat Britain and time for Hitler to get an army together. At this time Britain was one of the most powerful country in the world but they never used there power to protect the counties that need it the most.

There were other different reasons for the start of world war two, one was that perhaps if the terms that had been agreed in the treaty of Versailles had not been as harsh, than maybe Hitler would not have been as powerful. Hitler wanted to  get revenge on his Allies.

Secondly, the invasion on Abyssinia by Mussolini shattered the peace after word war one and stunned the world with what he was doing. Following the invasion of Abyssinia, nobody knew who was on there side if there was to be another war.

Finally, in 1930 Hitler produced an agreement called the Nazi-Soviet pact this meant that Russia could not fight against Hitler leading to them been weakened and scared of going to war.

In conclusion I think that Neville Chamberlain did not that much in the way go directly starting the Second World War more over I think that he should been blame because of the involvement with the appeasement of Hitler.

Well structured, but a little lacking in detail on your main points. This is a B/C borderline response. To make it better you would need to expand on your argument and perhaps include the views of historians on Appeasement.
