There are two  different types of politic system one is Capitalism and the other is Communism.

Capitalism is the politic system that allows people to have freedom of speech, the vote and many other points. This means that the government dos not control the newspaper or the business. An example of Capitalism would be the country  of USA.

Communism is the total different political system. The USSR was a Communism country meaning that the people there were not allowed the freedom of speech and had only one political party were as the Capitalism had severely. The government ran this lead to the newspaper and the business.

What was the cold war

The cold war was the relationship between the USA and the Soviet Union in 1945-1080. But they never fought again each other if they did then the consequences would be to appalling however they did fight for there  beliefs.  For example in the south Vietnam there were anticommunist and the USA supplied them during the war mean while the north of Vietnam was a pro-communist and fought the south using weapons from Russia

The Domino Theory.

At the time Vietnam was a communist country this is represented in this cartoon by a Domino benign pushed over by a Vietcong but if Vietnam is pushed over then the next two would fall over meaning that they would turn Communist too. As you can see there is a arm man stood at the other side of the cartoon trying to hold up  the other side of the Domino pact. Stopping the other countries from turning to a Communist.

Neville Chamberlain has been accused of being directly responsible for the Second World War. Would you agree that he is guilty of this?

There are a number of different reasons in why many people would have thought that Neville Chamberlain was responsible for the second world war, but there were other factors involved.

firstly people began to blame Chamberlin because of Appeasement this helped Hitler to get what he wanted this meant that Hitler was now able to get more lebensraum (living space) for his country to control. Due to appeasement, Hitler was able to do this with out any arguments from Britain or France this lead to him thinking that he could do anything to these two countries. He could not do anything to stop him. Hitler was becoming more and more powerful day by day. When Chamberlain finally declared war on Hitler it gave him time to think of a plan to defeat Britain and time for Hitler to get an army together. At this time Britain was one of the most powerful country in the world but they never used there power to protect the counties that need it the most.

There were other different reasons for the start of world war two, one was that perhaps if the terms that had been agreed in the treaty of Versailles had not been as harsh, than maybe Hitler would not have been as powerful. Hitler wanted to  get revenge on his Allies.

Secondly, the invasion on Abyssinia by Mussolini shattered the peace after word war one and stunned the world with what he was doing. Following the invasion of Abyssinia, nobody knew who was on there side if there was to be another war.

Finally, in 1930 Hitler produced an agreement called the Nazi-Soviet pact this meant that Russia could not fight against Hitler leading to them been weakened and scared of going to war.

In conclusion I think that Neville Chamberlain did not that much in the way go directly starting the Second World War more over I think that he should been blame because of the involvement with the appeasement of Hitler.

Coved and blow holes

A cove Is made by destructing waves which are powerful waves made by prevailing winds blowing in from the south- west Atlantic ocean. This means that the waves can build up  a large fetch of 5000km.

When these powerful waves bash against the sides of the cliffs erosion takes place such as Hydraulic power (which is 10 tun of force per m2 of compressed air into the cracks in the cliff. Corrosion or other wise know as abrasion ( which is when sand gets picked up by the waves and then get throw it the cliffs by  the waves leading the cliff to become softer). These together both erode away  the softer rock (the less resistant rock) leaving behind the harder rock (the more resistant rock) this is limestone.

The limestone is made out of the hard rock  and behind the hard rock is clay which is softer meaning that it would get eroded away quicker making I C shaped cove, at the back is chalk which is the harder rock.

An example of a cove is Lulworth cove in Dorset

Mon, 20 Apr 2009 13:13:07 -0700 Suggest how Headland and Bays are formed? http://epetty.posterous.com/suggest-how-headland-and-bays-are-formed http://epetty.posterous.com/suggest-how-headland-and-bays-are-formed

Firstly, you can see Headlands and Bays all around the British coastline for example Scarborough, Robin hoods bay and Bourmouth.

Bays are formed by Constructive waves (These are waves that are small in height and Carrie less energy also they have a strong swash but a weak backwash) The Constructive waves Carry large amounts of rock and material that has been eroded away from other parts of the cliff further down the coastline. As the waves crash up on to the cliffs, the waves erodes away large parts of the cliff away this is because a bay I made out of weak resistant rock like sand or clay. This leads to the rock being eroded quicker. Sometimes Bays can stretch to only a few meters to 100,000 kilometres across. Usually when you find a Bay you come across headlands they there surrounded by water on three sides. Headlands are mainly made out of a harder rock (a more of a resistant rock) for example chalk, limestone or granite.

Sometimes you can find caves or stubs in and around the headland.

Over time people have made the headlands there homes but sadly in 5-10 years much of the headland would be destroyed by corrosion.

Sun, 01 Mar 2009 05:48:00 -0800 Manchurian crisis http://epetty.posterous.com/manchurian-crisis-9 http://epetty.posterous.com/manchurian-crisis-9

The Manchurian crisis all started after the Wall Street crash, at the time Japan was more powerful they used this as a reason to invade Asia for more land. The south Manchurian railway was own the Japanese. On the 19th of September 1931 there was an explosion on the railway situated in Mukden. The explosion later became know as the Mukden incident. When the Japanese army looked at the explosion they decided to blame china, due to this the army used the explosion to take over Manchuria. China went to the league for help but they just turned them down and carried on with invasion this meant that Japan went on and took over Manchuria.

In October 1932 Japan pulled out of the league.

The Manchurian Crisis had a bad impact on the league as other countries and the population realised the league was unable to control anything this lead to the league getting the name as powerless.

Sat, 28 Feb 2009 09:39:44 -0800 how a ribbon lake is formed? http://epetty.posterous.com/how-a-ribbon-lake-is-formed http://epetty.posterous.com/how-a-ribbon-lake-is-formed

How a Ribbon lake is formed ?

Ribbon lakes are formed by a glacier moving 1-2 meters day, the glacier moves down the mountain until it reaches the bottom were it comes across the hard rock or other wise know as resistant rock. As the glacier moves along part of the rock becomes softer this means that the rock as less resistant. Were the rock is softer it    Allows the glacier to dig part of the rock out into a dip this only happens until the rock hits the hard rock again. Because of the dip in the rock, you usually get cracks on the edge of the glacier unforchunaly this mean that it is open to freeze-thaw this happens when the cracks become full of rain from the day then freezes at night the water then expands by 10% coarsening the rock to loosen. While freeze-thaw is happening, the glacier is still moving but because there is loose rock the glacier can pluck the rocks out of the ground this is called ground moraine. As well plucking the rocks the glacier also uses abrasion the sand paper affect sand away the rock. As the glacier retreats back it reveilles a lake and in few 100 years, the glacier melts mean in g the water runs in the lake leaving us with some of the most stunning scenery in the Lake District. Some examples of a ribbon lake are Windermere Lake, Ullswater and Wast water.

Mon, 23 Feb 2009 10:10:57 -0800 wall street crash http://epetty.posterous.com/wall-street-crash-4 http://epetty.posterous.com/wall-street-crash-4

In the diagram it is showing what happened with America after the wall street crash in 1929. Almost the same as what is happening in today.

The top left loop shows how if the prize of a product falls other countries become poorer which leads to USA gets less imports from other counties, which in the run stops other counties from selling their goods.

The right top loop describes how that if USA stops loans to other counties other counties cannot afford to buy American goods which in the long turn means the country becomes pooper.

The bottom loop explains that if the American companies go bust the unemployment raises in the USA, meaning that the US government has to introduce tariffs leading to other counties not been able to sell their goods to the USA. Consequently meaning that the prizes fall and other countries become poorer which leads to counties not been able to afford the to but the American goods. This means that USA is pooper because of the Wall Street crash.

The Wall Street crash put an end to the League of Nations because counties only wanted to solve there own problems not everyone else. Also the League of Nations couldn't lend out money to other counties.

Mon, 02 Feb 2009 11:11:43 -0800 Sustainable development http://epetty.posterous.com/sustainable-development http://epetty.posterous.com/sustainable-development

Sustainable Development

Sustainable development is when we use energy and resource in a way which doesn’t harm the environment, and will always keep us supplied with energy and other resources. To do this every person on the planet has to be a ‘Global citizen’.

There many things that we can do to become a Global citizen and so achieve sustainable development.

Some of these are Recycling, cycling and walking to work, using pubic transport, using different renewable energy source and also using more nuclear power.

Firstly I would like to start of by talking about recycling; it works by us ordinary people recycling things like glass, paper, grass cutting, tins and products. Each week around the country it all gets collected and either gets reused as another product or possibly turned into some thing else like a car or a train.

Recycling is a sustainable development because less energy is need in making these products than been made from a raw material. In the long run creates less green house gasses this means that it would stop the world from heating up quicker.

Secondly we need to get people using public transport more often than using there own transportation. For example using public transport, the bus can take up to 50 people instead of 50 cars so therefore it would save the oil reserves and reduce Co2 emission also could stop the congestion on the roads in the city centres. But if this is to be adopted we need to have a better public transport system, for example in Harlington we only have one bus an hour.

Another alternative to public transport is walking and cycling to school or work. This will cut down on the oil resources in the country leaving us with an extra few more years of non-renewable resource. Also because when using cars and any other transport are causes acid rain. This rain is dissolving limestone on churches and sculptures.

Further more we could use alternative power such as renewable like Solar and wind power.

Solar is more efficient as long as they are placed in a south facing house, it also helps if the solar panels are located in a sunny area such as America, France, Spain etc. You mainly see them on tops of large buildings or office blocks. They work by absorbing the sun light and changing the power of the sun into electricity. Wind turbines work in nearly the same way but the wind turns the turbines generating power or electricity..

Wind power is ideal if live in a windy area for example some parts of America, Britain. Britain has many wind turbines in places like Pennines, Huddersfield, Lake District, Wales we even have wind turbines off the coast of Skegness in the middle of the sea as there are not interfering with people’s lives. Wind and solar power are great examples of a Sustainable Development as they cost a lot of money to set up and get going but will pay for itself in time.

Both wind and solar power are perfect as they don’t give out any pollution which provides a clear environment for people to live in.

Another Sustainable development could be resources substitution this is instead of buying and wearing clothes that have been made out of man made products such as Acrylic, polyester or Nylon you could wear some thing different like cotton or wool and still look as nice and fashionable. Wearing products such as cotton and wool is sustainable as cotton is made from a plant which means it will probably never stop growing

Also wool is made from the coat of a sheep so unless the whole race of sheep stop breading you will always have the wool.

Fri, 30 Jan 2009 02:57:00 -0800 5 w's on the League of Nations http://epetty.posterous.com/5-ws-on-the-league-of-nations http://epetty.posterous.com/5-ws-on-the-league-of-nations

The League of Nations was founded as a reasult of the Treaty of Versailles. The league of nations was a international group which set out to settle any problems and to keep peace among the counties. It was set up because there were sometimes some things that the treaty of versailles could not sort out .

The league of nations was set up in 1919 to the 1920 by Woodrow willison president of the USA as a term of the treaty Versailles.

The league of Nation consisted of 42 members. They were set in place to ensure that there would been no more wars in the fucture. Two for the counties that was a member of the league of nations was Britain and USA but Germany wasnt allowed to join.

The only place were it could have been held was in Geneva, Switzerland as Switzerland was a neutral country and didn't fight in the war. Switzerland had international organisation such as the red cross.

due to the league of nations it helped prevent a war from happening between Greece and Bulgaria in 1925 however they didnt stop the war between Poland and Russia from 1920 to 192 also the didnt stop World war 2 happening.

The league of Nation was finaly ended a few years befor the start of would war 2 in 1939 but after it became know as United Nation (UN).
