Suggest how Headland and Bays are formed?
Firstly, you can see Headlands and Bays all around the British coastline for example
Bays are formed by Constructive waves (These are waves that are small in height and Carrie less energy also they have a strong swash but a weak backwash) The Constructive waves Carry large amounts of rock and material that has been eroded away from other parts of the cliff further down the coastline. As the waves crash up on to the cliffs, the waves erodes away large parts of the cliff away this is because a bay I made out of weak resistant rock like sand or clay. This leads to the rock being eroded quicker. Sometimes Bays can stretch to only a few meters to 100,000 kilometres across. Usually when you find a Bay you come across headlands they there surrounded by water on three sides. Headlands are mainly made out of a harder rock (a more of a resistant rock) for example chalk, limestone or granite.
Sometimes you can find caves or stubs in and around the headland.
Over time people have made the headlands there homes but sadly in 5-10 years much of the headland would be destroyed by corrosion.
